Staff Gratuities/Tipping

• Shared among the onboard staff who helped support and provide for your cruise experience, including your Program Director, waitstaff, stateroom stewards, galley staff, nautical staff and others.
• May be prepaid or paid onboard when you settle your account
• Discretionary --- Amounts listed are customary, but you may increase or decrease as warranted (excluding bar tabs)
• Tips for tour guides, drivers, onboard lectors and land side hotel and dining not included in these amounts

Rivers:  $20 - $25 per guest per day

Oceans & Expeditions:  $17 per guest per day... Bar tabs have an additional 15% gratuity

Flights

Viking Air

• Usually available in Economy, Premium Economy and Business class cabins
• Prices are fixed based on the fare when you booked your cruise so you may cancel without penalty as long as Viking has not ticketed your flights (about 75 days before departure)
• Even though Viking may be advertising free international air, that is from select gateway airports and select sailings
• Viking Air makes all decisions without any input from you...  You may pay a customization charge to be able to have some choices of airline and schedules (typically $100/person)
• Listed prices are to arrive and depart on cruise dates...  You may deviate from the cruise dates to extend before and/or after or use alternate airports for a one-time charge (typically $100/person)
• Ground transfers are included with Viking Air as long as you will arrive and depart on cruise dates

Independent Air

• The Hill Guys always shop flights independent of Viking for comparison to assure you get the best price, equivalent value and schedule flexibility

Ground Transfers

• ​Included with Viking Air purchase as long as you will arrive and depart on cruise dates
• May be purchased a-la-carte when you opt to book flights independently as long as you will arrive and depart on cruise dates
• Included with Viking cruise extension packages as long as you will arrive and/or depart on extension dates
• The Hill Guys can arrange private independent transfers when Viking transfers are not available

Optional Excursions

​Viking includes one complimentary excursion in every port of call which is typically a guided walking tour for River and Oceans.  Expedition inclusions are much more intricate.

You may choose to purchase optional excursions as well (full payment is due at the time of booking).

Alcohol

General

• ​Viking always includes beer, wine & soft drinks with onboard lunch and dinner (no package required)
• Without the beverage package, beer, wine, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks onboard have a per-drink charge + 15% gratuity

Silver Spirits Beverage Package

• Covers any drinks (excluding champagne) up to $18.00 USD, including premium wines and house champagne by the glass, cocktails, all house pouring wines, beers, liquors, well drinks, mixers/long drinks and soft drinks throughout the day for a flat fee per guest
• Both guests in the room must purchase if the package is selected

Personal Alcohol Allowed without Corkage Fee

• Guests may bring alcohol and beverages with them, purchase alcohol ashore at destinations that sell alcohol, or purchase them from the onboard shop
• Alcohol can be consumed in the guest’s stateroom or in public spaces, including the restaurants
• There is no corkage fee

Travel Insurance​

Viking Travel Protection

• Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption benefits for all items and dates purchased through Viking only
• Items booked independent of Viking are not covered
• Viking Cancel for Any Reason waiver provides a Future Cruise Voucher (no refunds) as long as you purchase Travel Protection with 14 days of depositing your cruise

Independent Travel Insurance

• The Hill Guys will check your options based on your unique trip needs to assure you get the coverage and value for the price
• Available to US residents only

Emergency Medical Note

• Medicare and Medicaid do NOT provide coverage outside the United States
  
• Always check your private health plan to see if international travel is included for emergency medical coverage

Spa Treatments & Salon Services​

• Spas and salons are only on Ocean & Expedition ships
• Free access to the Nordic Spa thermal suite is included with your cruise fare
• Spa treatments and salon service cost extra
