If you're looking for an amazing beach destination in Mexico and are tired of the all-inclusive Caribbean resorts of Cancun and Cozumel, it's time to get yourself to Puerto Vallarta (PV) on Mexico's Pacific side.
What Makes PV Different than Cancun and Cozumel
A picturesque beach town set among the immense and jungled Sierra Madre mountains that make their way down to meet the sea
A vibrant haven for countless artists and artisans
Extensive seaside boardwalk (the Malecón)
Stay in PV proper where you are free and safe to explore its countless restaurants, galleries, bars and shops on foot
Be immersed in Mexico's culture and beautiful people instead of being isolated in a resort
What We Love About Vallarta
Blond beaches that wrap around expansive Banderas Bay
Bay cruise for snorkeling or sunsets
We always feel welcome and safe
If you want to enjoy authentic Vallarta at its best, stay the Zona Romántica. The food in Vallarta is astounding so it's great to avoid the all-inclusive properties if you want to explore PV's diverse food scene. NOTE: Our experience is that eating and drinking a-la-carte will end up costing about the same as doing all-inclusive. If you want all-inclusive, they've got some excellent choices in town for you as well.
We only recommend Nuevo Vallarta if you want the isolated all-inclusive experience. It's north of PV proper and can be a lengthy taxi ride into town.
