Although medical and recreational marijuana may be legal in some U.S. states and Canada and one may have an official medical marijuana card, possession of marijuana or certain cannabis-infused products remain illegal under U.S. federal law.
TSA security officers do not search for marijuana or other illegal drugs, but if any illegal substance is discovered during security screening, TSA officers are required to report any suspected violations of law to local, state or federal authorities. https://www.tsa.gov/.../whatcanib.../items/medical-marijuana
Arriving at a U.S. port of entry in violation of this law may result in denied admission, seizure, fines, and apprehension. https://www.cbp.gov/.../cbp-reminds-travelers-canada...
This information is shared due to possible confusion specifically resulting from various differing laws in the United States. The Hill Guys Travel does not otherwise provide information about traveling with drugs that may be considered illicit. Education about all laws of your destination(s) is solely your responsibility.
Canada and most of Europe, South America, Asia and the rest of the world remain off limits to Americans due to The Covid. As well, the USA has been closed to non-resident visitors for over a year now.
Airlines are the gate keepers for enforcing international entry requirements as they have to pay to fly someone home if they allowed someone to travel to a foreign destination without proper entry authorization. If an American citizen bought a ticket to Paris as a tourist for next week, the airline would deny boarding as France is closed to American tourists at this time. Passengers are responsible for knowing if they are eligible to visit a particular destination before buying travel, so purchasing a non-refundable ticket is on the passenger.
So why have I been able to buy an international plane ticket all this time?

We do not recommend booking any sailing that is scheduled to depart from the USA, Europe or Asia before October 2021 and that is a stretch. The outlook for 2022 and beyond is looking good.

More cruise lines are getting onboard with requiring proof of COVID vaccinations for guests to sail. This is considered by many to be key to successfully restarting an already devastated industry while providing peace of mind for passengers and crew as well as the residents, workers and officials in the countries and destinations they serve.
Here are some lines on the list that are popular with Americans:
A vaccination requirement is "under evaluation" at these major lines:
These lists are for guest requirements. The majority of lines are already requiring their crews to be fully vaccinated regardless of their guest policies.
We at The Hill Guys Travel will not be surprised to see the list of mandated guest vaccinations grow in the near future.
